Feedback from Steuart’s Clients
What did you like best about the presenter and style of presentation?
I have a busy bookkeeping practice that involves 30+ clients, I work alone, and had an inbox that was out of control. For a long time I lived in fear of forgetting important details, losing emails, being late to lodge which could incur a penalty fine to my clients – so much stress. The world went crazy with Covid-19, and Jobkeeper came along and tripled the workload, the worry, the stress. I signed up for Steuart’s online series of webinars because I needed the help.
The difference it has made to my daily life has been absolutely incredible. By implementing Steuart’s tips and techniques I have not only reduced my inbox to about 3 items, my day is already planned because I’ve been able to plan when I respond to emails, when I process work associated with clients and I am not diverted by the constant interruptions from notifications. I also don’t have to worry about whereabouts to file the email because Steuart’s tips and techniques include a jaw-droppingly simply way to store completed emails. And finding them again is so easy because again – Steuart’s tips and techniques include more information on the search functions and how to make them really powerful.
I’ve saved so much time by using the shortcuts Steuart highlights, I can apply myself to my own work because I’ve more time, and less stress means I can operate at a better level.
Working through the material on a week by week basis is brilliant because it breaks it down into achievable chunks, and gives you a chance to make the changes in your own Outlook on one screen, while watching Steuart’s Outlook on the other screen – such a great way to learn – seeing, hearing and doing at the same time. Works really well in a very practical approach.
I found Steuart’s style of presentation to be very light and friendly, totally approachable, and he is just so knowledgeable on the subject of Outlook. An incredibly generous expert.

“May I say I am enjoying the weekly get togethers for this workshop. I feel if I had completed the one day I may not have achieved as much. Having an hour a week keeps it at the front of mind and you have a week to practice what you have learned and I think this helps to make it a habit.”

“I must say I was less than enthused to go to yet another training when I have so much work to do at my desk. I listened to you talk about this being life changing and how my emails would disappear. Managing two inboxes and with them generating most of my workload I sat fidgeting in my seat quite annoyed that you had no idea about my work; this surely couldn’t apply to me. Making me more annoyed was the way you kept closing the screen behind and ensuring we closed our laptops so I couldn’t check my emails and do work whilst you’re doing your presentation as in other training. So now a week later; I sit here at the end of the day with time to allocate an appropriate response and provide constructive feedback. I have still been busy all day but my work is not mounting up uncontrollably. I apply the two minute rule a few times a day and drag other emails into a slotted time to deal with it. Maybe not today but certainly as it needs prioritising. My emails are at zero at the end of the day EVERY DAY! The fact that I am now telling you that this training has indeed “changed my life” is like eating humble pie. But kudos to you and a well-deserved pat on the back. My calendar is now my priority - I have control of my work - I have started to leave on time - I have left my work at work giving me work life balance. Thank you.”

“Since the training last week I have been able to clear all of my emails and kept an empty inbox. To have a clear process to manage my emails has made a significant difference in my work life. I actually feel on top of my work and didn’t realise how much my emails where dragging me down.“
Terry Larkman, Child & Family Community Co-ordinator, Cardinia Shire Council
“I found your email session very beneficial. Changes I have made include opening up the calendar rather than email and setting appropriate times to manage email. I also love the “deal with it in two minutes or book it into the calendar” rule! I went away from the session with more than 500 emails in my inbox and now have a manageable 26. Actually today I completed a task that was hanging around in my inbox since Dec last year. Thanks very much for sharing your expertise.”
Bronwyn Fleming, Resilience & Recovery Officer, Cardinia Shire Council
“Prior to the course I’d have months of emails in the inbox and the constant message telling me that it is over the limit, now I currently have 48 items which will soon decrease again.”
Kathryn Berry, Training Administrator, Federation Training
“I joined because the amount of emails sitting in my inbox was impacting on my efficiency and productivity. I was hoping for a system or a gadget that I could use to streamline my email processing and filing (I love a good gadget). It's certainly true that I learned how to use a good system. But more important for me was a mindset change in how I approached email. I am now much more in control of reading and processing my emails, and I have a good system to action, diarise and file them. Together, the right mindset and a good system mean I'm more efficient and more responsive.”
