What is the TEA Model?
The TEA Model is a simple way to understand why we sometimes struggle to get things done – even when we’re working hard. Most of us find it difficult to have enough time, energy, and attention to keep up with our workload and commitments.
- You might have the ENERGY and ATTENTION for a high-priority project but simply can’t find the TIME – feeling overwhelmed by everything on your plate.
- Or you might have the TIME and ATTENTION for an important task but lack the ENERGY – exhausted from being so busy.
- Or you might have the TIME and ENERGY but lack the ATTENTION – distracted by all the possibilities around you.
The key to maximising productivity is identifying which of these three is lacking right now and using strategies to address it. At the recent Verto conference, I asked my audience to brainstorm practical solutions for each area of time, energy, and attention.
This TEA Model exercise comes from my Performing Under Pressure program, designed to boost personal and team productivity.
