We first had Steuart come to train our team in 2017 and everyone took something different away from the main group session which was then built on in the subsequent department and one on one sessions. The biggest take-aways for us back then were the 4D’s, that email should be done in time blocks only and that the Inbox should be empty.
Getting Steuart back again in 2019 was fantastic, we did it by department as it was more personalised this way and the team could ask questions more specific to the nature of their work. What we’ve gained this time is a renewed focus on email management and more tools and confidence to manage the 100+ emails we get each day. The new triage application is working wonders for efficiencies and the pressure is off (slightly) to have that Inbox empty as some of us are now using it more like a task centre driven by dates.
Overall a fabulous experience once again and one that has got our team feeling some email stress relief.
