Out of Office Christmas Messages with a Difference
If you are over sharing the same old Out of Office message during your holiday break, why not try out one of the following fun Out of Office messages we found online*.
Funny Out of Office Messages
Sorry if my out-of-office message gave you false hopes of my swift and enthusiastic response. I’m currently lazing on a beach, drinking midday cocktails. I won’t be replying to your email today 🙂
I’m currently on leave for the holidays, which means I’m probably:
Shopping like mad for last-minute Xmas gifts (every year! Why do I do this?)
Eating all the food
In a coma from eating all the food
Dodging awkward questions from my most intrusive relatives (why don’t we talk about *your* love life, Aunty Bev?)
A little bit tipsy from too much champagne
Sorry I missed you. I’ll be out of the office and slow to respond until after the break. While I have you, though, help settle an argument among my colleagues and me - What was the best Die Hard movie?
(1) Die Hard 1: The Office Christmas Party Gone Wrong; (2) Die Hard 2: Airport Conspiracy; (3) Die Hard 3: Samuel L Jackson. Enough said!; (4) Die Hard 4: Cyberthreat; (5) Die Hard 5: You should probably not pick this one; or (6) Impossible! It’s like choosing a favourite child!”
Oh hey, it’s Christmas, what are you doing emailing me? I’m extremely busy watching Home Alone, Die Hard, Elf, and the Santa Clause on repeat until the new year.
Ho ho ho! I will be out of the office until 2nd January watching holiday movies, drinking, and eating Christmas food (for a week with all the left overs. Here is my favourite Gingerbread recipe if you'd like to join in the spirit!
I’ll be out of the office from 22nd Dec until 2nd Jan. I know I’m supposed to say I'll have limited access to email, but let’s be honest, I have constant access to email…I just won’t be checking it. I’ll be too busy enjoying some much-needed R&R with family and friends to worry about emails.
I’m out of the office until 2nd Jan and I will respond to your message at that time. Meanwhile, I’ll leave you with a list of the things I’m most grateful for this holiday season:
My family and friends
Coffee
A warm and comfortable home
My heavy-duty phone case
Coffee
A holiday table full of delicious food (and wine, can’t forget the wine!)
My health and that of my loved ones
Technology that makes life easier, like out-of-office autoresponder emails!
Did I mention coffee??
And, of course, I’m grateful for you! Wishing all of my clients and colleagues a safe and happy holiday!
One of Sarah Holder’s favourites
Sarah is one of my clients and regular attendees to the Dr Email forum, and she shared this one with me:
I'm currently travelling interstate to embark on a (not so secret) top-secret mission, diving headfirst into a brainstorm bonanza with amazing Small Business Entrepreneurs! Your message is safely stored, and I'll be ready to tackle it with newfound inspiration on my return. Until then, may your thoughts be as innovative as a jetpack-wearing penguin.
One for those who work from home
Thanks for your email. I’m on Christmas break (on the couch/sofa eating chocolate). Unfortunately, I can’t answer your email (even though my office is three feet away). I’ll get back to you once I’m back from my long-awaited trip to the fridge.
