Adventures in Portugal

I am currently in Portugal contesting the first round of the European Historic Rally Championship with my brother.

Our car was rebuilt after a civilian ran into our car at our last event near the Scottish border in November the other car was doing at least 100 km'/h while overtaking 5 cars, in the dark and on a wet night).

The car was running suprebly and my brother driving it very well. In fact we were second fastest of those who did a pre event shakedown run. We started the event well with a 5th fastest on the first stage and then fastest on the second stage - a real coup!

We maintained top 4 times for the remaining 4 stages of day one to complete the day in 4th outright, far better than our expectations.

We were 4th again on the first of the day 2 stages, gaining 10 seconds on the car in third place. Unfortunately, we rolled the car on the next stage with the simplest of small errors and have both suffered minor injuries.

Our comprehensive safety equipment and attire ensured we will live to fight another day, although the car will need extensive repairs before our next event in Greece in May.

The upside is a little more time to explore Porto before heading home later this week.
